Antoine Bourg was among the very first French pioneers to settled down definitively in Acadia. . We know very little about his origins but, according to the oral tradition, he was born around 1609 in
Martaizé, near Loudun in the Province of Poitou, France.
He arrived in la Hève and after a short period of time moved to
Port-Royal. He was then approximately twenty seven years old. In 1642, he married Antoinette Landry and they had eleven children.
